Background

Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall (Ranchman’s) is a country and western themed nightclub and bar in Calgary. Ranchman’s has become synonymous with western culture and the Calgary Stampede & Exhibition. It is the official hospitality location of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, and hosts numerous country music concerts and events throughout the calendar year.

Ranchman’s was opened by Harris Dvorkin and Kevin Baker in 1972. Over the course of 42 years they transformed Ranchman’s from a simple dancehall and cafeteria into a world-famous country music venue and Calgary landmark.

Harris Dvorkin passed away in April 2017 after a long illness.

With the stewardship of co-owner Kevin Baker, Ranchman’s was sold to a new ownership group led by local businessman Doug Rasberry.
